For the last several years I have been using this incredible book called: Seeking God’s Face: Praying Through the Bible Through The Year. It has been an inspiring, insightful and surprising tool to draw me closer to Christ throughout the other 6 days.

One of the things I love about it is how it directs the reader into passages from both the New and Old Testament. Then it gives you three things to pray about and one prayer to pray over yourself. The prayer often leave me speechless and they linger with me for days. Here’s a short excerpt.

Pastor Joshua

Psalm 41: 1-3, 13

1 Blessed are those who have regard for the weak;
the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.
2 The Lord protects and preserves them—
they are counted among the blessed in the land—
he does not give them over to the desire of their foes.
3 The Lord sustains them on their sickbed
and restores them from their bed of illness.
13 Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Amen and Amen.

PRAYER
Everlasting God, living well and doing good requires a wisdom beyond myself. Even well-intended attempts at doing good often results in unintended consequences that yield more misery than gain. Humble and help me to do good that arises out of true faith, conforms to your love, and is done for your glory. Amen
